Any tips or information on a beach holiday in Malaysia?

December 302009

Hi,

I’m considering having a holiday at the beginning of March in Malaysia and would like to know if anyone can recommend where to go for the most beautiful beaches, scenery and slice of culture. I know nothing about the place so open to any tips or suggestions please!

I’ll be flying from London, and plan to stay for a week or 10 days. I assume I’ll need to fly to Kuala Lumper and then go from there.

Thank you!

i suggest u go on an island vacation instead.
there’s many tourism islands here in malaysia such as Langkawi Island, Redang Island and Tioman Island. usually holiday package in these islands is more fun, where like u can have scuba driving or an island boat tour.

i’ve been to langkawi before, its fun :) u should go tour around the island, the beach is fantastic. they even have cable car and this island is also best for shopping, its affordable too ^^

but then, i’m just a 17 years old kid, so i dont know much about best beaches in Malaysia. but still, i hope this helps ^^ i wish you a fun time here in Malaysia ^_^

There are plenty of beautiful beaches in Malaysia. If you wanted somewhere which is more than just a beach resort, you should skip Langkawi, Tioman, Redang. Those places don’t have anything resembling a culture. Beside, Tioman and Redang would not be ideal as they are still subjected to the tail-end of North-East Monsoon (Wet weather). You should go for places such as Penang or Kota Kinabalu, older cities (= Culture) with nice beaches close-by.
