We are in the UK and are trying to find a place to go on a beach holiday?

April 92010

We are planning on going on the 28th March 2010. We are on a staff ticket so we cannot book anything. We are looking for a really nice beach holiday. We have checked Seychelles, Thailand, Cuba but the flights are FULL. We are not looking to go within Europe. A nice destination with nice beaches away from england. Please help, we need to decide really quick now.
Please help, I will vote best answer. C’mon :)

Tanger, Morocco: historic and beautiful (just watch out for pickpockets in crowds!)

Perth, Australia: not as touristy (or as far) as Melbourne and Sydney.

You tried Cuba – how about elsewhere in the Caribbean? Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Jamaica…

And if you’re in that hemisphere, Rio de Janiero, Brazil; Buenos Aires, Argentina; Acapulco, Mexico; Florida, California or Hawaii in the US.

Beaches in Turkey are quite nice, and it’s cheaper too.
Or maybe Goa, in the South of India? The beaches there are pretty famous.

My daughter married mid-March on St. Thomas, USVirgin Islands, and we split our time between St. Thomas, which had a few nice beaches, and St. John (reached by a short boat ride) which is entirely a nature reserve and marvellous for snorkeling.
The weather was great at this time of year, just starting to get a bit on the warm side which promised it would be too warm in a couple of months.
We flew (I think) to Puerto Rico then American airlines (?) to St. Thomas where we shared a villa.
There are also the British Virgin Islands in the same stretch of the Caribbean.
Just had another thought – how about the Cape Town area? We were working there a few years ago and the beach at Fishoeck (spelling?) was lovely; we went down there whenever possible. South Africa has some of the loveliest beaches.
If you are thinking long haul, of course, there is Australia and New Zealand – some nice beaches not far from Auckland and fantastic ones in the far North of North Island

    What part of the UK?

The UK is Scotland, Wales, England & Northern Ireland altogether,

    I only know England,

    The Lake District,
    Cornwall,
    The North Yorkshire Moors,
    Devon,
    South Downs,
    Cotswolds,

Sharm-el-sheikh in Egpyt, or Dahab for quieter beaches
