Has anyone stayed at the caribean beach resorts in florida?

December 302009

If so how was your stay?

My wife and I stayed at the Carribean resort last year for the food and wine festival at Epcot. We live in Tampa and will go over to Disnesy every so often with our kids as well as by ourselves. We have stayed at many of the Hotels on property as well as a couple off property. The Carribean Resort is a nice solid pick at Disney. The rooms are a normal size, nothing spectacular but nothing offensive either. The resort is nice with multiple lakes, a beach with lounge chairs(you can’t swim in the lake), hammocks and an above average pool area. It replicates what you might think of staying at an island in the Carribean (obviously) but we enjoyed it and would stay there again especially for the price.
Getting to the parks was smooth as well. The resort is centrally located and the buses come frequently versus some of the other resorts like Animal Kingdom Lodge where you may spend 45 minutes on a bus just getting to the park.
Good luck and have fun. Hope this helps.

I have stayed at the Carribean Beach Resort twice. Once with my parents and brothers, and once with some girlfriends while I was in college. I really enjoyed (which is why I stayed there twice ). It’s very relaxing, the ‘beach’ is very nice walk along. We would take an evening stroll along the beach to the main area to fill up our re-fillable mugs. It’s not spectacular, but definetely enjoyable – I have never had an issue there. You really can’t go wrong – it’s a good pick.
I have also stayed at Riverside (which was charming) and my husband and I are booked to stay at French Quarter in April.

In short it is a great resort, just very large. If you like walking or waiting for buses it is for you. If not then it is not for you.

I have stayed at the Caribbean Beach and loved it! I was there a couple of years ago with my wife, two kids (ages 8 and 4 at the time) and my in-laws and we had a blast! The rooms were very nice and larger than the value resorts, the pool is huge, there is tons to do at the resort, and the sit down restaurant is a nice change of pace from the food court dining. I highly recommend it!

If you want more info on the resorts check out the disboards. The disboards is a message board website where you can find tons of info, including trip reports, resort reviews, dining reviews, tips for avoiding crowds, and much more. I put the link below.

Hope this helps, have a great trip!
