Beach

We are going to Virginia Beach (or the area) and we cant find any places to stay. We were looking at Sanctuary Realty, but every place there is sold out. We are going the first week in August. We want a condo that sleeps at least four, has at least 2 bathrooms, at least two bedrooms, and under $3,000!!
OH! and by the way! it has to be oceanfront (not ground level either). I guess i am asking a lot. Just let me know if you have been to the Virginia Beach area and if you liked it and where you stayed….that would be great!! Thanks

I talk to my brother once sometimes twice a week. I have learned some horrible things about what has been happening with his son. He has been in trouble on violating probation a few times. Anyway, everytime I talk to my brother he acts as if nothing is wrong and life is perfect, when in realty it is not. He lies to me about what his son is doing when I know that he is in jail. He will tell me he went to the beach or is at the movies when in reality he is behind bars.I am sick of all his lies, lies and more lies. Should I confront him or leave him alone? I feel like what is the sense in talking to him sometimes because all he does is give me a bunch of baloney its ridiculous I almost feel like I am being thought a fool. how long can you pull the wool over someones eyes?

I’ve got one of those too. Just keep it cordial with him if u want to preserve your relationship. You can roll your eyes when you hang up the phone, but try not to be confrontational.

A group of friends from college want to go somewhere during our early summer break, preferably on the East Coast, ranging from Delaware to North Carolina. Only a few of us will be 21 at the time and we are finding it difficult to find a house to rent; many Realtors have a minimum age of 23-25 and require that person to be present during the stay.
We don’t want to drink or party (we’re all pretty boring college students anyways, haha). We just want to enjoy the sunshine, lie on the beach, and have a nice house/ condo to come back to.

Does anyone know of any realty websites (Delaware, Virginia, or North Carolina-based) that doesn’t discriminate against non-family, under 21 groups?

suggest that you head as far south in N. Carolina as you can (and maybe even sneak into S. Carolina to the Myrtle Beach area. You can stay in NC, but MB is only 30 miles from the border….and they are used to having college kids hanging around.

My roommate and I have been friends for almost 21 years. She is my cousin/my best friend and my roommate. (I’m about to be 21 btw) I just woke up from this dream and I have the feeling that it is suppose to mean something, but neither of us can figure it out so I need some help. The first layer, We went to the beach right before sunset but we ran into some sort of trouble there. (I can’t remember exactly what) second layer I woke up and wanted to tell her about the dream, but I couldn’t move I fell right out of bed and tried to text her but my fingers wouldn’t work. Third layer I wake up again and was glad it was just a dream and I get out of bed and I take three steps and then fall to the floor again. I feel as if my roommate is in trouble at this point and I try to crawl to her and I almost make it to her door when I wake up. Fourth level, I use all my strength to propel myself out of bed to get to her and I this point I am worried about what has happen to me. I lost all sense of reality and assumed that this is dream was reality. I open my door and fall yet again but crawl to her room. She hears me fall and opens her door and she helps me to the couch. (Im a nursing major in real life) she ask me if I know what was going on and I do a gesture that I need water. so she gets me water but realized i will need a straw since my muscles are tensed up and are not releasing. I get water and it doesn’t help, but I wake up yet again in the Fifth layer and I get super mad because I am tired. Then I wake up in the six layer and punch the bed which brings me back to realty and I physically punched the bed.

I don’t know what this might mean but to me it sounds like your roommate is in danger and you wont be able to get to her but then again I could be wrong but just in case you two aught be careful.

im renting a house on the beach and its very nice but i found a cockroach in the bathroom, which is connected to
my room and i cant go to sleep and im really freaked out especially since when i called the realty place about it, they said basically thats just the way it is and stuff and ahh any reassuring info so i can go to sleep?

Do you think the roach is going to come after you. They just won’t do that. If you must, just sleep with a light on in your room. They don’t like lights. But DON’T smear food all over your body or bed; that will attract them. Kidding.

Ok..so I’ve already put my deposit down for my venue for my November wedding. I cant get a refund so I’m stuck in the contract which I guess is ok but for some reason I’m not feeling so excited about it anymore. Here’s the thing, I’m renting a beach house for a November wedding. Why?..you may ask.. so that my out of town family has a place to stay, and so we can just do the whole wedding/reception in one place which saves money as well.

Looking at the pictures, you’ll notice it’s on the bay which I picked on purpose for the ceremony. I imagined getting married on the dock during sunset which I understand it’s going to be a little chilly so I’ll make it short & sweet Inside, on the second floor is a game room/small bar which I intend to use for the adult beverages and as a place for people to hang out, and on the third floor where the kitchen is, is where the food will be (obviously) and I was thinking about moving the furniture to the side and making it a dance floor when people are done eating. I also enjoy the numerous balcony’s for a romantic evening reception.

My problem is I don’t know how to decorate it to make it look more like a wedding and less like a beach house. I’m trying my best to try to steer it away from looking beachy b/c it’s not a "beach wedding". I bought those light up lanterns that are really trendy right now and was thinking about hanging them on the balconys..but what else can I do? Any ideas for the deck by the water? I’m thinking of getting an arch but should I try to hang something to try to hide the pool in the back? Any ideas of what to do inside? I know I’m asking alot but I need as much help as I can get.

I think that is a great place for you to get married. And don’t worry too much about the cold weather. There is something romantic about being cozy in a lake house.

As for decorations, my suggestions would be (I assume you are having a small wedding?):
1) Kitchen area: Move all of the furniture in the kitchen area (except the table) into the garage. Rent an extra table for a seated dinner if you need it (long banquet tables will be easy to move to the side when you want to dance). You can’t fight the yellow in the room so I would either a) go with fall colors or b) pair it with dove gray. Dove gray will look sleek and modern and help tone down the yellow. It will also keep the surrounding nature in the forefront. As for decorations, I would light a fire in the fireplace and use candles on the tables and bar. Also, put a slide show of you and your fiance on the tv or a video of something the two of you like (maybe just make it look like a painting).

2) Ceremony area: While the pool is behind you, it will be covered by that point and some pool covers are just gross. You don’t want anyone thinking "Eww" as they go to your wedding. I suggest blocking the view with an evergreen or box hedge. Unlike a screen or lattice, it will blend in with your natural surroundings. You can also plant the bushes later (eco-friendly!). On the end of the dock, put two LARGE flower arrangements, an archway or a canopy at the end. This way you’ll be framed up in your pictures instead of dwarfed by the vastness of the setting.

3) Balconies: I really like your idea about the lanterns on the balconies. They’ll provide a nice ethereal quality outside. Unless you know people will be outside, I wouldn’t spend too much money decorating the balconies since it is unlikely too much time will be spent out there since it will be chilly.

4) Game Room: I wouldn’t do much in this room, but keep try to keep it cohesive with the other decorations you use. Get a matching linen and cover the coffee table. Put a small cocktail sized floral arrangement on the table. Put the same slideshow/video on the computers/tv. Put candles on the bar. Take down the umbrella artwork (put in the garage) and hang an engagement photo instead.

Ok, I would probably need a realtor’s opinion more on this one, or expertise rather. In a nutshell, I live 25 minutes from Gulf Shores Beach…..or the Alabama Coast. Which means all land value = plummeted. It would seem like a huge buyers market and it is really, but the citizens here have no jobs to buy these dirt cheap houses.

Now comes my issue. My family owns a 14 acre plot of land with four houses situated on it. One of them being my late grandmother’s which we have been trying to sell for a bit of time now. Given it’s been some time on the market simply because the economy has been absolute crap for as long as I can remember no one could afford the property but now and especially now with the help of a coastline full of black oil that comes in waves and waves, would/could BP be held accountable for at least the devaluation that is destined to come with next years appraisal?

It doesn’t take a genius to know that the value a year ago would have been somewhat alright, although we’ve dropped the price by at least 20k so far, and to boot, it comes with a forth of the entire acreage. But now, with this oil bull**** there is no way in ____ that anyone is going to even consider buying this property, pristine land in a semi rural area about to have a road paved connected the town to a supposed living community in the future, which I’m sure is also canned now.

So, even though this turned into a novel of sorts, I would never expect that BP would have to purchase the house or property but I do think that the extreme and sudden devaluation which will linger for years to come over our as well as my grandmother’s house is a direct result from this spill. Now we are not looking for anything for our own property’s although if we have a foothold we may, but the family is footing the bill for the other house that is basically just slowly draining everyone’s pockets, more so now than ever and with this spill there 100% is no light near the end of any metaphorical tunnel lest a miracle presents itself.

In anyone’s opinion: Does BP have any financial accountability in the aforementioned situation in any way, shape, or form? Thanks for any and all advice!

I’ve been following this on the news, as most Americans have been.. I heard on CNN and HLN there were suits against BP, BP was even paying people that met certain criteria on their own out of suit (all be it nothing even close to their loss earnings), people that were affected by job loss, illness, etc. I’m not sure if property value fits that criteria, but you could find out. Look online and talk to people in the area, specifically people that are effected by employment, they know a lot more about this than anyone. They can lead you in the right direction, might even be a suit you can be added too or one you can start yourself… Look into it, if need be, consult an attorney.

i recently rented a house for a week on the outer banks and while there i met the love of my life. i know this because when we kissed i could just feel it. anyways he left before i could tell him how i felt. the bad news is i only know his first name and the first names of his friends. i don’t know his phone number either. i do know what state he lives in but not a specific area. so can i call the realty company to ask who stayed in their house or is it confidential?

They will not give you that information. If he liked you then he would have given you his number…

Can anyone assist me with this issue I’m having as I’m a first time home buyer and I feel as if I’m being jerked around. I put 6k in an escrow account to buy a home. To make a long story short I could not meet the documentation required to proceed with the loan due to lack of time in business. I was at the mercy of BOA to send me the denial letter to start the process of getting my escrow money back. We’ll the letter finally after a week came in and was provided to the realtor Linda Trotter from Balasteri Realty in Broward County, Florida. She sent a document to me half filled out and when I accidentally put the date of the signature she instructed me to white the date out. I immediately asked her why should would send me a document incomplete. She tripped over her words and had nothing she could say other than lye! Now the seller Diana Evans 2613 S.W. 14th Drive scam, rip off property house home in Deerfield Beach, Florida along with her sharp tongued realtor Nicole west from Remax in Boca Raton, FL. is refusing to sign the letter necessary for me to get my 6k escrow deposit back. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to what steps I should take to be successful in getting my escrow deposit back. Thank you all in advice!

call your agents broker as almost every contract has an out for rejected financing. Were you no pre-approved for this purchase?

The new season of "Jersey Shore" is about to start filming this time not in New Jersey and soon enough so that they can play it over the summer.
My question is how can they possibly do a new season with the same cast.
For example if they did South Beach EVERYONE is going to know who they are and go wild on the cast or try to get on TV or just make a mess. It’s impossible to do another seaon like this because everyone will know exactly what is going on. Women will be easy for the guys everyone will be going nuts to try and get on tv and talk to the cast that there is no way they can do it.
Picture this: They go out to the bar or club. Tell me not, everyone will be all over the cast swarming them. There will be nothing to shoot except for the fact that they are now celebrities.
Hows is this going to work? Thats why you dont see other realty show bring back the cast.
