What is a great vacation beach for a new couple?

October 182010

My boyfriend and I live in Ohio, and next June will be our two year anniversary. We want to go to a beach for vacation, somewhere smaller.. but we don’t want to go clear to Florida. Virginia beach is way too ..commercial. We want somewhere smaller, and less crowded. Has anyone had any personal experience at a beach that they enjoyed? :) Thanks for all the help.

You probably think this is lame but – Heber Springs, AR! Its great little town of 6000 people. They have a great lake called Greers Ferry Lake and have a little section for just swimming Sandy Beach. and they have cliffs you can jump off of. and you can watch the most gorgeous sunset there is! Have fun!

What is the best beach vacation spot in California(:?

October 162010

My family and I are planning on vacationing at some beach in Cali at the end of July, so I just wanted to get some opinions of peoples’ favorite beaches there and why?

Thank youuu!<33 :)

Huntington Beach
Laguna Beach in Orange County

Santa Monica/Venice/ Malibu/ Zuma beach in LA County.

Laguna Beach.. its a cove and not quite so busy

Santa Monica .. its where I lived ..and its a beautiful beach
Venice Beach is a myriad of character on the boardwalk.
You can people watch all day.
I like Malibu –Huntington Beaches.. as I like surfing
Zuma I like because its down the road from Malibu and its not packed with LA people, like Santa Monica beach is.
Hermosa Beach.. you can stay there a little more affordable..but anything close to the beach will cost you.

The hotels by LAX Int’l Airport are some of the most reasonable motels.. and LAX isnt that far from the ocean. Youre midway between Orange and LA county beaches..closer to LA.

How can I have a "beach vacation" at home?

October 132010

My friend is feeling really down and really needs a weekend away, but he’s really busy right now, and a bit broke. How can I set up a beach scene at my house to make it almost kind of feel like a vacation?

fill your house with water.
bring some coconut trees and sand.
and have lots of fun.
remember to learn swiming first. ok

What are some indoor activities for adults on a family beach vacation or things to surprise grandma with?

October 72010

Grandma is paying for this vacation and last year she did the same thing. She is paying 10,000 dollars a week for the family to stay in this beach front home in Myrtle beach. It does not have to be all indoors, but we want it to be creative if it is indoors. Please let me know some ideas you might have. Thanks :)

Myrtle Beach has Medieval Times there. It’s a place where you eat dinner at tables with your group while watching a play/performance.

Where are there good, affordable beach vacation destinations on the East Coast?

October 42010

My boyfriend and I are looking to take a vacation somewhere there is a beach on the East Coast (can be on a lake. doesn’t have to be on the ocean). We are looking to go mid-July. We live in NY and were hoping to go somewhere that we don’t have to drive more than 5 – 6 hours. We are also looking for somewhere affordable, where we can find hotels in mid-July around $200 per night, ideally on the beach or close walking distance. Can anyone suggest specific locations, or even specific hotels that might be nice and affordable?

I dont really remember details, but when I was a kid my parents used to rent a nice condo out in Cape May, New Jersey. It was some of the best vacations of my life. It was literally a five minute walk from the rental house to the beach. If you want a nice, relaxed vacation spot, I’d suggest looking up Cape May.

It is supposed to rain the entire weekend during my family’s beach vacation. Any suggestions?

March 282010

I can cancel reservations with a 48 hour notice and get my deposit back. However, I’ve taken off work for a 3 day weekend, and my kids were super excited about going to the beach. There is nothing else to do that is fun in our destination town, and it is going to rain in every drivable city nearby here in my state. Any suggestions? We need a vacation desperately. Postponing until summer won’t work because I am due in June. We don’t want to take a newborn to the beach. Thanks!

take lots of board games and craft stuff plus ur gums boots and rain coats
the beach is a very differnt place while raining imaginge the crippy crawles the kids could see.
collect some shells etc then make crafts out of them.
good chance to bond.

What is the nicest cheap tropical or beach vacation spot?

February 242010

My boyfriend and I want to go on a vacation this summer. We don’t have a huge budget so we want something relatively inexpensive but we also want to go somewhere gorgeous and warm. Does any one know of any cheap places (cities, countries etc.) or ways to find cheap flights and hotels?

Thanks!

it really depends where you live but i just went to boracay (in the philippines) and it was amazing and dirt cheap!

Sunny beach vacation in the continental USA?

February 182010

I am dreaming of a sunny, warm beach vacation in the continental USA. My ideal place would be someplace warm without a lot of people within three hours drive of an airport. I would like an affordable vacation rental home or bungalow (no motels) on or near the beach. I was thinking somewhere along the Caribbean – maybe Texas or Florida. Any ideas?
Oops, I meant Gulf of Mexico. Has anyone been to Galvenston, Texas? Is it pretty? Is it mello?

Virginia Beach

What is your favorite beach vacation spot in Florida?

January 192010

We go to Florida every summer and I love the beach. We don’t like something too crowded or alot of attractions. We keep things simple, like laying out & swimming all day. We do enjoy going to nice restaurants at night. We usually go to Pensacola Beach. Just thinking about changing things up a little. =]
Thanks

Treasure Island or St. Petersburg beaches on the Gulf of Mexico. The beaches are large and I’ve never experienced overcrowding…and each area has great restaurants. Have a great summer!
