How Come After Swimming in the Ocean at the Beach, My Hair Feels Sooo Soft?
I love how my hair feels after swimming in ocean water, so soft and even thicker too (I never thought my hair would be able to feel thicker than it already is). How does ocean water do this?

Well the salt in the water takes off all of the grease that’s in hair…but i never heard of it making it soft. That’s Pretty cool that it happens to you.

What beach has better shopping stores, and is better to hangout at? Mission Beach, PB, or Ocean beach?

January 32011

I personally like going to beaches were there are many unique stores around, and where it is chill to hang out. I was also wondering what beach is moslt likely to have the most attractive and outgoing girls?

Pacific Beach. Garnet Ave. from Crystal Pier to Ingraham Street. Just walk along it and you will see what I mean. Tons of places to Chill. Tons of shops with unique themes and stuff to buy or browse.

Ocean Beach presents itself as the Land That TIme Forgot. It’s just strikes me personally as an unkept beach resort environment. Ya’ know where people gander around on the sidewalk, but have their dogs with them and only half the owners pickup after the pets.

Mission Beach, with the exception of right around Hamels across from Belmont Park, really does not offer a lot of shopping opportunities. Unless you looking to buy a 40 oz. brown bag beer.

Go where I suggested in Pacific Beach. Also, checkout the shops above La Jolla Cove. They are pricey, but they have very unique products and are fun to walk through.

Does anyone know of any good opportunities to do volunteer work cleaning up the ocean/beach in Oahu?

December 292010

I love the ocean, and I would really like to do something like this. I searched online some, but couldn’t find anything. Any ideas?

Just do it. On your own…

unless you need to account for something like volunteer hours, etc. If so, like previously mentioned, contact the city / county.

Enjoy!

Make a list of different environments(deep ocean, beach, river and mountain top)?

December 272010

Make a list of different environments(deep ocean, beach, river and mountain top)?
Make a list of different environments (deep ocean, beach, river and mountain top) and discuss whether or not fossils could form in each of three environments.

Please don’t answer this randomly .

deep ocean–fossils may not form if there’s no sedimentary deposition, as it may be too far from sediment from continents.
beach–possible, given regular sedimentary deposition from a river or other source.
river–good chance of preservation, as rivers deposit much sediment to bury/preserve life forms.
mountain top–worst place for fossilization, as sediment flows away, downhill, from the mountaintop.

how do you go back to bart from ocean beach?

December 252010

my friends and i were planning to go to san francisco CA ocean beach by BART but none of my friends know how to get there and get back please help and provide detailed information about which bus/bart train/or muni we will ride in
thank u!

BART to Civic Center, then transfer to the N-Judah MUNI line for Ocean Beach.

MUNI operates on a different level of the Civic Center station. And you do not need to exit the station. Simply leave the paid area for BART and find the MUNI platform. The destination sign will say "Ocean Beach" and it is the last stop, so you can’t possibly miss it. The fare is an additional $2.00.

what is the closest ocean beach to indiana?

October 292010

I live in indiana, looking for the closest ocean beach to vacation with my family

Some where on the New Jersey shore. I would choose Wildwood. I Loved it there when I lived in Jersey. The Cape May Ferry boat across the bay to Delaware is fun for all ages. It’s right near Wildwood at the tip of Jersey.

what is the difference between a beach front, ocean front and gulf view room?

March 262010

My Husband and I are planning a trip to Florida and we can’t decide which hotel to stay and where in Florida, but the things I came across when looking at hotels are some of the rooms say Ocean Front or Beach front or gulf view.

What is the difference between them? We want a room facing the beach but on a higher floor of the hotel. We don’t want to be on the first or second floor.

Also can you tell me the best beaches to go to in Florida that isn’t too expensive to stay in a hotel on the ocean?

I actually think the hotels in North Palm Beach were pretty cheap and they are right on the beach. Like you step outside the back door right into sand. It really never gets that packed (relative to Miami and other packed areas) and its usually filled with older people/families, but its a cheap hotel located right on the beach.

Since you posted this in "Miami", it is important to note that Beach Front Hotels in Miami tend not to be physically right on the beach. Instead most hotels have a little back entrance (with a gate that uses your room card to open and close) that you use to access the beach. you need to walk through 10-20 yards of brush and the broadwalk/pedestrian walkway before you get right to the beach. (everything is cleared and its a easy walk). So it goes Hotel/backyard gate/pedestrian walkway/10-20 yards of vegetation/and then sand. Its not a big deal, but some people never know what to expect. Not all hotels are like this, but many are.

Concerning room views. You will often see "Ocean Front" vs "Ocean View" rooms. Ocean Front rooms actually face the beach (full-on) while Ocean View rooms usually involve having to go on the balcony to be able to see the beach. Many hotels dont have rooms that face to the inland part of Florida, unless their is some sort of intercostal waterway and the hotel thinks the views are still nice. Its a little bit more tricky to get a room on a higher floor. Most of the time, rooms are given out when you arrive, so your best bet is to ask for a higher floor when you get there.

Again, in Miami, many hotels are only 1-3 stories and family owned (and not right on the beach…always check where the hotel is on a map…many of the cheaper hotel rooms in Miami beach are located 1-2 blocks away from the beach). The taller hotels tend to be the more up-scale resorts/chain hotels and these tend to be right on the beach.
