Would you take your kids to a nudist beach?
March 182010
lol, relax ppl, just a question!
Yup. My parents took me, and when I have kids I’ll take them. Kids generally hate wearing swimsuits anyway. Every time I go to a textile beach I always see at least 3 kids who want nothing to do with the bathing suit.
Nudity is only sexual because people automatically react to nudity as erotic. Whoa! Female nipples, bare butts, and penises. We all have sex organs, smart people don’t think with them.

First and foremost, I wouldn’t go to a nudist beach so I wouldn’t be taking my child. I don’t think the nudist lifestyle is necessarily sexual, just not my thing so it’s not something I’d go out of my way to expose my child to.

No, I would not. I don’t think there would any real purpose. In addition most nude beaches are not respectable; from what I hear there are many unmentionable things going on there. But, I would not mind going to a respectable nude community (without the kids).

There is absolutely nothing to gain by going to a nudist beach with your child.
They will not benefit from it at all and in effect, make them go two step backwards in regards to mental development.
Nudist beaches are an adult thing. Not for kids.

Absolutely not. I wouldn’t go to one anyone but I really disapprove of the thought of taking my son.

Of course the natural answer is, "Of course not!" but if you treat it as normal, it could be good for them in the long run–they wouldn’t grow up in the dark about the human body, and wouldn’t go out of their way to watch porn or have sex at an early age. Of course, you should only do this and after you’ve had a talk about places that are appropriate/inappropriate for touching/showing skin in public and involving strangers, and they’re old enough to understand that talk.

wow, almost everybody here is so insecure with their own bodies they are insecure about all nudity. So sad.You claim breast feeding is natural, sex is natural, etc. so is nudity.Nudity doesn’t ruin innocence or corrupt people.get over it people.
Would I? well, I don’t make it a point to.We have plenty of non nude beaches here.i dont think there is any here for that matter.

Wow, a lot of people here have hang-ups based on the cultural mores of the Victorian era, back when nude=sex and it was considered shocking and indecent for women to wear pants (because they were mens’ clothes). As I recall, according to the Bible all the trouble started when humans started clothing themselves (see: fig leaf).
That being said, I don’t think that a nude environment necessarily has to be a sexually charged environment, but most people in this western culture think it does, so I would probably not bring my future progeny to a nude beach simply because others’ behaviors and attitudes there would probably be directed by those outdated mores. If enough people think something is a certain way (even if it isn’t necessarily) and act as though it is true, it effectively becomes true (see: William James’ "Pragmatic theory of truth")

Depends on the context. If we were on vacation in Europe or most anywhere besides Puritanica, and went to a beach where clothing is optional, sure. If it were a nudists’ specific beach in a nudist colony, no. Nothing against it, it’s just not my scene.
I fail to see anything wrong with nudity on public beaches, but hey, I have to remind myself that I live in a country colonized by Puritains and the tradition of being terrified of one’s own body still runs strong with some people, so I doubt I’ll be running into any of those beaches here.

Nudity doesn’t traumatize kids. Their parent’s reaction to nudity is what kids key from. If the parents thinks nudity is bad, and act like idiots, then the kids will grow up idiots like their parents.
Studies of children raised in the nudist environment shows that nudist children have a far lower instance of teen pregnancy. The curiosity about the body is gone, so no "tee-hee" moments playing doctor, progressing to fumbling in the back seat of the car.

We’re born without embarrassment, shame, or intolerance of our bodies. Those are learned behaviors. If those perversions are not taught at home, they’re taught by the culture at large. Young children who haven’t yet been influenced, will be fine. Children brought up in nudist environments, will be fine. Otherwise, the kids will be confused and will wonder why they can’t be naked in public at other times. Older children should have the choice to go or not with their parents. In any case, at the better beaches with other families around, they’ll be safe and welcome.

NO…. A person should be able to make this decision when they are 18.
Not forced to because their parents want to take them.
Children ruin the nude experiance for my wife and I when we are nude.
If you want to see nude children I think you must be a perv.
