how do you go back to bart from ocean beach?

December 252010

my friends and i were planning to go to san francisco CA ocean beach by BART but none of my friends know how to get there and get back please help and provide detailed information about which bus/bart train/or muni we will ride in
thank u!

BART to Civic Center, then transfer to the N-Judah MUNI line for Ocean Beach.

MUNI operates on a different level of the Civic Center station. And you do not need to exit the station. Simply leave the paid area for BART and find the MUNI platform. The destination sign will say "Ocean Beach" and it is the last stop, so you can’t possibly miss it. The fare is an additional $2.00.

The BART only goes through San Francisco downtown, the Mission and south toward Daly City, nowhere near the beach. Get off at Civic Center station and switch to the N Judah streetcar and that goes to Ocean Beach.

And reverse that to get back. Grab the N-Judah Muni Metro (train) at Judah street and take it to the Civic Center (first stop where you can catch BART). Or if you are north of Golden Gate Park, grab a #5 bus on Fulton which will take you downtown, you can get off as soon as the bus hits Market St. and walk back to the Civic Center BART or stay on the bus and get off at Powell to go downstairs to the BART there.
