WA or QLD for a cheap but nice beach holiday?

August 312011

Which would be better for a cheap but nice beach couple holiday? Looking for sort of a resort sort of deal, nothing over $200 a night. Thanks :)

Any suggestions/recommendations for specific venue?

I would say go for QLD. The Gold and Sunshine coasts are very well known for their beaches. There are also many islands, like the Whitsundays, which are very beautiful and more private.
You also have the Great Barrier Reef which has some of the best snorkeling in the world (in you are into that sorta of thing)
The only downside is that QLD will be more touristy because WA isn’t a big holiday destination

How could I give my room the beach feel to it?

August 252011

I’m just a teenager and my parents don’t want me to give it any permanent changes. No painting the walls, and I have light blue walls. And I like to hang up pictures on my walls.

The light blue is perfect for a beach style room.
Here are some ideas :http://www.luxurybedding.com/OYO-hildy-bedding.html
These containers are available else where for much less.http://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/Bamboo-47-inch-Cylinder-Vase-with-Dried-Botanicals/5500793/product.html
Use a light colored one with light colored twigs.
You can really use white as an accent color.
This sort of window covering would look great. Long white curtains would look good also with or without the shades.
White lamps or even one green one along with some sea shells will make your room fresh and light !

How to make a yellow room beach style?

August 192011

Hey Yahoo! Answer community!! :D

I have a daisy yellow room with light and dark oak furniture…

I feel like decorating and bedding with help it make it more beach style…?

What kind of bedding from walmart, target… ect and some decor make it more beach like?

Thanks to everyone who answers! :)

Paint your stuff like bed frame and dresser white and buy a bamboo chair or other bamboo furniture, white candles, jam jars with sand and shells in them, maybe buy a little indoor water fountain/water fall. As for bedding you could always get light blue floral bedding and one of those white bed canopies. Framed black and white photography of beaches. And get beachy sented incense.

Just the little things like that that count c:

Want to rent a beach cottage next summer for a month. Santa Monica or Laguna Beach?

August 142011

Will have my 2 children (14 & 7) and we want to go to Disney Land & San Diego Zoo while we’re there, but also see Hollywood, Malibu, and my son wants to learn to surf. I have found cute beach cottages in both of those places. Laguna Beach looks adorable online. Santa Monica & Venice beach look more fun. Please advise…. Thanks!

Is the beach at Ocean Grove a state park or state owned land? Can I go metal detecting at their beach?

August 122011

I wanted to go metal detecting at 1 ocean avenue, ocean grove NJ which is the beach at ocean grove, but im not sure if im allowed to. Help?

From what I can gather it is Town owned… that town is 1. Pretty tight knit, and two, pretty famous… The town is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, so I highly doubt you can go metal detecting there…

Plus, I would be afraid to… Especially not on a Sunday

Does anybody know any good places to stay near Virginia Beach?

August 102011

We are going to Virginia Beach (or the area) and we cant find any places to stay. We were looking at Sanctuary Realty, but every place there is sold out. We are going the first week in August. We want a condo that sleeps at least four, has at least 2 bathrooms, at least two bedrooms, and under $3,000!!
OH! and by the way! it has to be oceanfront (not ground level either). I guess i am asking a lot. Just let me know if you have been to the Virginia Beach area and if you liked it and where you stayed….that would be great!! Thanks
east or west, doesnt matter, as long as it is, like, idk, half an hour drive from Virginia beach i guess

east or west?
